As more and more of what I’ve been working on recently becomes public more and more questions roll in asking if Boxer Hockey and Diesel are just dead now.  I keep meaning to do a write up or explanation but every time I do I just can’t get the words right.  The flat truth is that I’ve just been going through some real personal shit this year.  My whole life has been flipped on it’s head and it’s all I can do just to keep a roof over my head right now.  And sadly beloved personal projects have yet to do that for me in a stable way.  I’m very fortunate that finding work hasn’t been a problem but some stuff has just had to be put on pause for a little while as I try and find some stability. So the short answer is no, they are not dead.  Everything I’m doing now is working towards a future where I can happily tell my own stories the way I want.  Hopefully you’ll still be around when that time comes.  In the meantime I hope you can find some enjoyment from whatever else I’m working on.  Bravest Warriors, Megaman, Sonic, and other books and TV shows that will be announced in due time.Thank you for sticking around.

Kind of sad to announce that issue 18 will be my last Bravest Warriors cover.  For a while at least.  I’ve got so much going on, including some other fun stuff with another Kaboom series that I just can’t keep it on my plate.  But it’s been a lot of fun and I’m happy to send it off with this cover.  From either my run on the comics or my short stint story boarding for the show I’ve grown very fond of the cast and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Bravest crew.

This year I got to fulfill a childhood fantasy and do a cover for Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.  Growing up it was one of the only comics I read and spent much of my youth looking up to many of the featured artists and their different styles.  I can easily say that the book is better than it’s ever been now with a dedicated team of artists and writers that really put forth their best efforts every month. So yes, I felt a little pressure going into this.  But I hope you like the end result.  This will be the standard cover (not a variant) for issue 258 to be released February 2014.

The cover for Bravest Warriors #17, done in a faux-screen-print-y kind of style.  I originally started off doing it with propaganda-esque slogans like “Be Brave, Warriors!” but I just couldn’t get the typography right.  Anyway, I like it as-is too.
